Assessment is a process used to understand a person's level of competence in numerical terms, while evaluation is a process used to determine a student's level of learning in education. A sound measurement and evaluation system helps teachers determine student progress and improve the quality of education. Thus, measurement and evaluation in education are essential stages for determining student performance and evaluating the success of the education system.

This article examines the current literature thematically and methodologically related to measurement and evaluation by analyzing master's theses conducted in the fields of Turkish education, teaching Turkish as a foreign language, and teaching Turkish to Turkish children abroad. 

The document analysis method was used to analyze 18 master's theses obtained from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education, according to years, universities, topics, keywords, research methods, study groups, sampling methods, sample groups, educational institutions where the samples were taken, geographical locations where the samples were taken, data collection tools, data analysis methods, and data analysis programs. Qualitative data analysis was conducted using the content analysis method. The relevant sections of the article explain the findings identified through thematic and methodological analysis.
