Abstract


PROCESSING OF THE CONCEPT OF “LIMITATION” IN GRADUATE THESES WRITTEN IN TURKISH EDUCATION AND TURKISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE EDUCATION

In this study, the term “limitation” is discussed based on the data obtained through document analysis. Therefore, firstly, the conceptual framework of the word limitation was tried to be drawn based on the relevant sources. Then, five master’s theses and five doctoral dissertations were chosen via random sampling by entering the keywords “Turkish education”, “Turkish language and literature” into the search engine https://tez.yok.gov.tr/UlusalTezMerkezi. In these theses and dissertations, the term, “limitation”, is evaluated in terms of its usage.

From the findings, it was determined that the term “limitation” was widely used incorrectly in postgraduate theses. This situation was also observed in some scientific research. It was emphasized that it is a scientific necessity to use limitations and limits/delimitation with the right content to prevent conceptual confusion.
