Şenlik who is one of the famous minsterls of the East Anatolia Region and lived in the second half of the 19th century in Çıldır and its surroundings gives an important place to social phenomena and issues from lyrical issues in his poems. While dealing with these issues and phenomena Şenlik openly indicates the names of heroes phenomena. One of the points which can attract the attention of a reader of Şenlik’s poems is the prevalence of the names in his poems. İn this study, persons’ names take place in Şenlik’s poems are determined and these names are arranged into four different categories religious, intellectuals and statesmen, epic, and story heroes, among the names of poems. Among these names, it attracts one’s attention that these names are mainly associated with the region where Şenlik had lived. This situation gives information about sociocultural structure as well as the history of the period in which. In this context, the conclusion part of this study focuses on the reasons and results of the reference to the names.
