This study aims to examine the studies on the use of WhatsApp applications in the field of education in terms of various variables such as their distribution according to their types and years, subject areas, and the research methods they use. The research was limited to theses and scientific articles on WhatsApp published in Turkey between 2015-2024. The sample was scanned using the keywords "WhatsApp" and "WhatsApp Education" through the Higher Education Council National Thesis Center, TR Index, Google Scholar, Education Resources Information Center, and Dergipark databases. As a result of these scans, a total of 132 academic studies on WhatsApp were identified. 94 of the identified academic studies are postgraduate theses (master's and doctoral) and 38 are articles. In the study designed as a qualitative case study, the document analysis technique was used as the research method. The bibliometric analysis method was used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that there were more postgraduate theses prepared on the subject of WhatsApp than doctoral theses. When we look at the distribution of postgraduate theses by universities, Gazi University comes first. In addition, it is also among the results that the most frequently used research method is the qualitative research method, both in theses and articles.
