This study is a content analysis study that is prepared for examined the research on the use of games in social studies education in Turkey. This study aims to present the general trends in research by analyzing the studies on the use of games in social studies education in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, the postgraduate thesis studies and articles which are articles relating to the utilization of games in social studies education were examined. Studies on the usage of games in social studies teaching were scanned and recorded by the researcher based on certain criteria. In total, 35 studies were analyzed in this study. Descriptive content analysis was used in the process of data analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most research on the use of games in social studies education was done in 2019 and 2022. More than half of the studies have been done in the last five years. Research is largely based on master theses. It has been determined that the proportion of studies in which quantitative and qualitative research methods are preferred is close to each other. It was concluded that secondary school students were mostly preferred as the sample group in the studies.
