Abstract


STRONG FEMALE HEROES OF MİRCEVAT AHISKALI’S GURBETTEN İNİLTİLER TRILOGY AND A SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE BETWEEN EXILE AND LIFE: ASYA AUNT

The Ahıska Turks are a community that fought for life and death in a series of exiles. AhıskaTurks, whose roots date back to Atabeks, have come back from the brink of many genocides in the historical process and have suffered heavy casualties. The novels and poems about the Ahıska Turks have extensively discussed their lives, cultures, history, and political instability around the exiles of the Ahıska Turks. Mircevat Ahıskalı's trilogy of novels Gurbet İniltiler 1, Gurbetten İniltiler 2 Yaşam Savaşı and Gurbetten İniltiler 3 Karış Karış Ferganaare among the important works on this subject. The female protagonists play an important role in the novel. The most prominent and powerful hero among the three novels is Aunt Asya. In the first novel, Aunt Asya is the woman who experienced the most severe conditions of exile, lost all her children, and started the first rebellion against the current administration. In her novel, Asya Hala appears again with her strong character. However, it is Aunt Nazife who stands out more here. In the last book of the trilogy, Aunt Asya appears again as a strong heroine. The place and status of women in Ahıska Turks society, the female dimension of exile, the institution of motherhood in exile, the lives born into exile, the importance of women in conveying national identity, the female aspect of the resistance without men and the lifestyle of women after exile will be evaluated in the study.
