Children's literature, which is defined as literature whose subject is children, is a critical field for the development of the child. The child’s imagination expands when he is introduced to literature, his sensitivity towards national and universal values increases, his innate sense of aesthetics is activated, the vocabulary of his native language is enriched, and his ability to express himself develops. For this reason, it is also important to determine the richness of the books to be taught to children regarding vocabulary elements. This study, which aims to examine the vocabulary elements in the book titled Yeşil Gözlü Kardan Adam, has qualitative features. The descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained through document review. In the research, 10 stories in Tacettin Şimşek's storybook Yeşil Gözlü Kardan Adam were examined in terms of vocabulary. Vocabulary elements in the book were examined; they were identified and classified separately under the headings of idioms, proverbs, relational words, formulaic words, reduplications, and reflection words. As a result of the research, it was found that all of the stories in the book contain idioms and that the book is very rich in terms of idioms; It was concluded that the number of proverbs was relatively low.
