Because the individual is a being that develops and changes at any moment. Considering all these, the skill acquisition process should be examined very carefully. Especially it is an important issue to emphasize the situation of the preservice teachers, who will teach language and its skills and guide students with these skills, about the skills of the language. This study aimed to develop the “Writing Attitude Scale” for preservice teachers. The sample of the study was composed of 375 preservice teachers who were studying at Kafkas University Dede Korkut Faculty of Education and were selected randomly. The study was conducted according to voluntary basis. Firstly, the item pool was prepared and expert opinions were received. The exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis of the scale were performed and developed. Based on the results, it was determined that the scale was composed of 26 items and 1 subscale. This subscale was named “writing attitude”. Then, the internal consistency of the scale was calculated based on Cronbach’s Alpha value and it was concluded to have high reliability. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis also indicated that the scale may also be easily used in different study groups. In this sense, the scale is considered to be valid and reliable.
