Cartoons are effective in gaining children's interest and love for reading as well as many language skills. Displays of reading and the book element in cartoons increase the interest and love of reading in children who take cartoon characters as role models. In this study, how much and how reading and book elements are shown in cartoons have been investigated. For this purpose, four randomly selected cartoons broadcast on TRT Çocuk were examined. In the research, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. All parts of each of the four cartoons were analyzed separately; It has been determined that the data on the reading and book element, in which section these data are shown or not, and how many times they are shown in the sections shown. Then, it was determined how the representations of reading and the book were shown and which elements were included in these elements. In this direction, 58.6% of the cartoon sections examined included reading and book elements; It has been determined that reading and book elements are mostly shown as "reading books" and the representations about "reading bookshelves, second-hand booksellers, libraries and other written materials" are not given enough space.
