We see that textbooks are the most basic and functional materials used to achieve achievements at all levels of education. In Turkish lessons, texts and activities related to texts are generally used to enable students to reach their achievements. With different text types, students encounter writers who develop their mental world as well as knowledge and skills. The fact that students know the author of the text they read through biographies increases their interest in both the text and the author. The text writers and their biographies in the secondary school Turkish textbooks were determined, and at this point, the problem situations such as the effect, quality, and permanence of the biographies on the students were examined in line with the opinions of the teachers. The study is in the qualitative research model and the data were collected by the structured interview method and the content analysis of the obtained data was made. Afterward, a general evaluation was made of the results obtained, and it was concluded that the biographies could be a source of inspiration for the students and that they could help the students to comprehend the text by increasing their interest in the text they read. Thus, the biography texts were considered important for the development of the student and it was concluded that cultural and literary values played an important role in the acquisition of the student.
