The aim of this study is to evaluate the problems of formation training of Turkish language and literature within the scope of the opinions of the students. The research is a case study and has been conducted in accordance with qualitative research method. The opinions of the students have been collected by means of semi-structured interview forms within the context of the study. Convenient sampling method has been used in the study. According to the research, the majority of the students taking the formation training on Turkish Language and Literature found the formation program necessary. The problems that the students originated from the instructor are stated as “Course preparation approach”, “Student negative approach”, “Classroom management incompleteness” and “Do not care about the course”. The students stated that the problems originating from the classroom environment are “crowded classes” and “The lack of clean class” .The problems that the students originated from the administration are stated as “Conflict of license exams with formation training”, “Lesson hours” and “Formation exams made at the same time”.
At the end of the study, the students stated that they have gained experience in terms of teaching profession due to the formation program. However, some of the students indicated that they have faced problems with instructors. The students expressed that there were particularly problems with teaching method and the unfavorable attitudes of the instructors. In addition, the students taking formation training on Turkish Language and Literature highlighted that crowded classrooms, overlapping of undergraduate exams and formation training and early start and late finish of the classes are among the problems.
