Karakter eğitimi konusunda öğretmenlerin rolü büyük önem taşımaktadır. Çünkü diğer eğitim-öğretim çalışmalarında olduğu gibi karakter eğitimini de öğretmenler gerçekleştirmektedir. Erken çocukluk eğitimi döneminde karakter eğitimi verecek olan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin karakter eğitimine yönelik yetkinlikleri ve bu yetkinliklere yönelik inançlarını belirleyerek geçerli ve güvenilir ölçümler sağlayan ölçek geliştirmek ve literatüre kazandırmak bu çalışmanın amacını ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışmanın örnekleminin belirlenmesinde %95 güven aralığında örneklem hesabı yapılarak çalışmaya en az 233 okul öncesi öğretmenine ulaşılması amaçlanmış ve çalışmada 313 okul öncesi öğretmenine ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında kullanılan ölçme aracının yapı geçerliğini belirlemek amacıyla doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Ölçek okul öncesi öğretmenlerine uyarlanmış formu 21 madde ve iki alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin iki faktörlü yapısına ait yapı geçerliliği ve uyum iyiliği indekslerini tespit edebilmek amacıyla doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) yapılmıştır. Önerilen modifikasyonlar yapılmadan önce elde edilen uyum indeksleri şöyledir: [CMIN/DF=2.014 (p=.000); GFI= 0.900; RMSEA=0.057; SRMR= 0.0554; CFI= 0.881] şeklinde elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha katsayıları incelendiğinde Kişisel Öğretim Yeterliliği (KÖY) için .796; Genel Öğretim Yeterliliği (GÖY) için .723 ve ölçek geneli için .832 olarak hesaplanmıştır.  Bu sonuçlara göre ölçeğin hem faktörler düzeyinde hem de genel olarak güvenilir ölçümler sağlayan bir ölçek olduğu söylenebilir.

The role of teachers is of great importance in character education. Because, like other educational activities, character education is carried out by teachers. The aim of this study is to develop a scale that provides valid and reliable measurements by determining the character education competencies of preschool teachers who will provide character education in the early childhood education period and their beliefs about these competencies, and to introduce it into the literature. In determining the sample of the study, it aimed to reach at least 233 preschool teachers by calculating the sample within the 95% confidence interval and 313 preschool teachers were reached in the study. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to determine the construct validity of the measurement tool used within the scope of the study. The form of the scale adapted to preschool teachers consists of 21 items and two subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to determine the construct validity and goodness of fit indices of the two-factor structure of the scale. Before applying the suggested modification, the obtained fit indices are [CMIN/DF=2.014 (p=,000); GFI= 0.900; RMSEA=0.057; SRMR= 0.0554; CFI= 0.881]. Cronbach Alpha coefficients have been determined .796 for Personal Teaching Efficacy (PTE), .723 for General Teaching Efficacy (GTQ), and .832 for the total scale. According to these results, it can be said that the scale is a scale that provides reliable measurements at both the factor level and in general.
