Hagia Sophia; has become a place of worship that writes the attention of statesmen, historians, sufi and religious people in the history scene with the subject of architectural and art history researches. On the other hand, it has left its mark in literary works with its artistic value, otherworldly, and social life.
In the introduction part of the study, it was focused on how Hagia Sophia is handled in poems. A temple where the beauty of the beloved is compared in the ghazel, ode, detached couplet, history quatrains, and history books of the mosque, which is used for different purposes in the language of the literati; a place where sufi and religious people meet. It was seen that it was described as a magnificent work with its architecture and a place of worship where prayers were accepted. Then the historical quatrains of the poets of the period of Ahmed III, Dürri Ahmed Efendi and Nedim were evaluated. It was understood that the continents that shed light on the renovation works of the mosque were for the renovations in the first and last years of the sultan’s reign. The mosque was renovated from the quatrain of Dürri in 1116 / 1704-1705; from the quatrain of Nedim, it was learned that the sultan’s court was expanded in 1142 / 1729-1730. With the information provided by both historical quatrains, it was determined that they could contribute to the restoration of history.
